Cupping

Cupping involves the application of cups to various points on the body and then creating a vacuum by removing air. Also known as Al-Hijama and  Hijama. Hijama is an arabic word derived from hjam meaning “sucking”.

There are three types:

  • Dry cupping – the application of cups to various points on the body and then creating a vacuum by removing air in order to draw blood to that area.
  • Dry massage cupping –  the application of cups to various points on the body with olive oil applied to the skin and then creating a vacuum by removing air and then moving the cups over the skin.
  • Wet cupping – small scratches are made with a sterile surgical blade after an initial treatment of dry cupping, the cups are then re-applied to the skin in order to draw blood out.

Deep Draining/ Psycho-Postural Treatment

Ear Seeds, Tei Shin

Ear acupuncture points may be stimulated for a longer period of time by using ear seeds or ear tacks. Ear seeds are small seeds from the Vaccaria plant. These seeds are held in place on the ear with a small piece of adhesive tape. Ear seeds may be left in the ear for a few days or up to two weeks.

 

Tei Shin are spring activated cutaneous probes for treating or locating trigger points, acu-points, or ear points.

 

EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique

A psychological acupressure technique used to optimize emotional health. Based on the meridian points as used in traditional acupuncture. Instead of needles being used, tapping with fingertips is employed on specific meridian points.

 

Electro Acupressure

Acupressure is a traditional Chinese medicine. Mini electrical pulses are used on trigger points on the body. Can be used to relieve a wide range of symptoms and pain.

 

Electro Acupuncture

Electro Acupuncture is essentially the same as traditional acupuncture in that needles are inserted into the same points. The difference being that the needles are then attached to a device that generates electrical impulses. The frequency and intensity can be altered depending on the condition the patient is being treated for.

 

Electro Magnetic Acupuncture

The difference in Electromagnetic acupuncture and traditional acupuncture is that a moving magnetic field is applied to the treatment point instead of the insertion of a needle. The magnetic field generates an electric current to the treatment point. This type of acupuncture acts in exactly the same way as traditional acupuncture but without the needles.

This therapy allows the release of particular muscles and for the body to be brought into balanced structural alignment.

Neuroskeletal Re-Alignment Therapy
